Lone Star Medical Associates is looking for a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a dynamic and patient-centered medical clinic, and we are seeking a qualified individual who can provide both clinical and administrative support to our physicians and nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer flu shots and other vaccines under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider after proper training.
• Assist in minor procedures, administer injections (including intramuscular), and ensure correct medication and dosage with physician or nurse verification.
• Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs, conducting venipuncture for blood draws, performing EKGs, and preparing patients for exams or procedures.
• Provide front desk support: answering phones, checking faxes and emails, greeting patients, and scheduling appointments.
• Assist with back office tasks such as prior authorizations and referrals.

Requirements:

• Must have proper training and certification to administer injections.
• Ability to work under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals who authorize and verify clinical tasks.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle both clinical and administrative duties efficiently.
• Previous experience in a medical office is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
